Chic cover ups have its status risen to become one of the most important fashion elements this season. They are now like a fashion accessory that could be used to update our wardrobes. While we used to think that the only outfits that could keep us out of the cold or chilly weather in Singapore are cardigans, sweaters and bulky jackets, times have changed to provide us with many more fanciful alternatives! People in temperate countries are now busy putting on pretty coats and puffa jackets this Fall/Winter season but we too can also ride on this layering trend with our own interpretation. Passion Chiffonier proudly recommends the below 3 chic, edgy cover ups for you to throw over yourself this rainy season!

The cropped jacket as its name suggests, is cropped at the waist or higher and often have 3/4 sleeves which makes it perfect for the layering look. Also, because of its short and sweet length, the cropped jacket looks great with almost everything ranging from blouses, camisoles to dresses, pants, skirts  or even shorts. They are great alternatives to cardigans as they create a stronger silhouette and bring on more character to the person wearing it. 

The vest is basically a sleeveless jacket which has since expanded into many different styles ranging from the ultra glamorous of faux fur or sequined vests to the utilitarian chic designs of crochet or leather vests. A vest is no longer just the button up, masculine version that we all went crazy over some time ago. It is now set to become one of the key fashion trends well into 2011. So be sure to own a piece to pull off one of the hottest looks this season!

The bolero is a jacket that is loose, waist length and opens at the front. For ladies who prefer their throwovers to be less form fitting may opt for the bolero.

Spaghetti strap tank is a must-have for the scorching weather in Singapore, but we don't stop at just owning plain ones. We are constantly on the lookout for pretty ones with interesting details, where it is good enough to wear on its own on lazy days or striking enough to wear under smart blazers or jackets. Hence, we brought in this Korean version which will definitely bring out the femininity in all of us.

We love all the intricate details of this top: tiny scallop trimmings, low key lace details, pearl beads and the textured patterned material which complement each other so well!
